I had the unbelievable pleasure of being a part of this incredible couple’s unique wedding in the picturesque town, Matjiesfontein. Every aspect of the day was true to who they are as a couple. Their unique style and love for each other was weaved through the day’s events. With unique details like: the groom’s green velvet jacket, a “golden snitch” made by the groom’s brother which the bride threw instead of a garter, the best braaibroodjies I’ve ever had served with dinner, the homemade hot sauce the couple made as a gift to each guest, and pretty much everything else! Thank you Ewald & Waldi for making me part of this beautiful day I will never forget. Love, Michelle.

A Note From The Couple

Our wedding was everything we intended it to be and more. We had the pleasure of taking over Matjiesfontein for a weekend and filling it to the brim with every special person in our lives. We are still overwhelmed by the love and positive energy every guest sent our way. Our wedding was about celebrating everything authentically Ewaldi – our love for each other, our creative passions, our friends and family, our love for good food, wine and music, our way of life. It was a personal project for us, taking up most of our free time in the months leading to the big day. So it was important that it was wrapped in positivity, calm and that everything went ‘just so’.

This wedding was about celebrating our future and telling our parents, family and friends how important they are to us in that future. We wanted to spread the love (and happy tears), and we’ve felt it back in abundance.

We are proud to say that we achieved our goal, and had the best weekend ever! Our marriage is off to a great start!

To Michelle – Thank you for putting us at ease and fitting into our world so easily. You made it a real pleasure to pose for photos (cringe!) and far exceeded our expectations. You have a beautiful spirit and we are so happy that you were there to contribute positively to our day. More-so, you’ve captured our memories and experiences of the day, and we are eternally grateful for that gift.
