Danelle & Corné’s At-home Elopement

An intimate ceremony at the bride’s parents house | Cape Town

As I walked up to Danelle’s parents’ beautiful historic home in Oranjezicht, the beautiful bride opened the door to welcome me in. The next moment I heard her welcoming guests downstairs and offering them something to drink. I loved the fact that she was involved and the atmosphere was so relaxed. No fuss, no distractions from what was really important. Just the family coming together to celebrate with the happy couple in an intimate living room ceremony. The sound of the couple’s kids playing filled the house. The guests gathered with a glass of wine in the cosy living room to await the bride coming down the stairs.

My favourite moment was the girls helping Danelle get dressed.

The couples love for each other is so evident and the portrait session was so easy and comfortable – filled with giggles and jokes between the two of them. And I loved the fact that their kids were a part of the photos, so adorable!

The rest of the evening was filled with the family dancing to jazzy swing music and kids making snow angels in the confetti on the living room floor. I loved the intimacy and simplicity of this wedding so much, definitely one of my all time favourites.
